Red Shack Lake
Red Shack Lake is 10.4 hectares with a maximum depth of 11.5 meters and a mean depth of 4.2 meters. Northern pike are the targetable species present. Red Shack Lake has a very healthy pike population.
**Due to the nature of difficulty regarding access on backcountry lakes, launch access areas are restricted to small watercraft only.
Access
Located 72.6 km from Swan River, MB off of PR #365 in the Porcupine Mountain Provincial Forest. The distance from trailhead to Red Shack Lake is 2.5 k. The lake is located along an old haul trail and is most commonly accessed by snowmobile in the winter months. Because of possible logging operations, be sure to contact the nearest government office for updated information before using this trail. This trail is not maintained, therefore fallen trees may complicate passage. The trail crosses Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation land and users are advised to contact the lands manager for permission to cross land.
