North Steeprock
North Steeprock Lake is 990.5 hectares with a maximum depth of 12.7 meters and a mean depth of 3.6 meters. Commonly referred to as “Steeprock”, this water body is absolutely stunning with its rocky shorelines and abundance of islands. Targetable fish species present are walleye, northern pike, burbot, lake whitefish and yellow perch. Try spring walleye fishing in the river, pike off main basin weedlines in the summer, and jigging up whitefish in early August on steep contours. Note, this lake can get quite rough on windy days but there is great angling opportunities in the river portion of the lake or close to the islands. Features present include 2 established boat launches with docks, 1 filleting shack and 1 filleting station, non-modern washrooms, parking and basic campground services. The campground includes 18 seasonal campsites as well as 17 transient campsites with overflow areas. More information on services available within the campground can be found on the “Learn More” page under Manitoba Parks.
