Float Island Lake

Float Island Lake is 149.3 hectares with a maximum depth of 11.9 meters and a mean depth of 5.5 meters. Float Island is known for its targetable trophy northern pike population. Late winter is the best time to target large pike. Bring tip-ups with big baits, or heavy jigging gear and set up in the shallows near the many tributaries.

**Due to the nature of difficulty regarding access on backcountry lakes, launch access areas are restricted to small watercraft only.

Located 69.7 km from Swan River, MB off of SK RD 980 in the Porcupine Mountain Provincial Forest. The distance from trailhead to Float Island Lake is 10.8 km. The lake is accessible by snowmobile in the winter months.
