Fishing Lake

Fishing Lake is 87.5 hectares with a maximum depth of 23.3 meters and a mean depth of 3.9 meters. Targetable fish species present are walleye, northern pike and lake whitefish. Fishing Lake is an exceptional fishery that produces trophy walleye and northern pike. The lake has no shortage of underwater structure and walleye fishing spots. Access is great which makes the lake an ideal place to bring the family for a day of backcountry high quality angling.
**Due to the nature of difficulty regarding access on backcountry lakes, launch access areas are restricted to small watercraft only.

Access

Located 50.8 km from Swan River, MB off of PR #365 in the Porcupine Mountain Provincial Forest. The distance from trailhead to Fishing Lake is 28.75 km. The lake is located along an old haul trail and is most commonly accessed by snowmobile in the winter months. It is not recommended to hike this trail in the summer because of length and damage created by ATVs, however, it is still possible. Because of possible logging operations, be sure to contact the nearest government office for updated information before using this road. This trail is not maintained, therefore fallen trees may complicate passage.
