Line Lake

Line Lake is 230.6 hectares with a maximum depth of 10.5 meters and a mean depth of 2.4 meters. Northern pike are the targetable fish species present. Once a popular muskie fishery in the Duck Mountains, Line Lake experienced are rare winterkill and muskie haven’t been stocked since. Today the lake is a popular pike fishery especially during the winter months. Start your day near the island as this area of the lake usually provides good angling success.

**Due to the nature of difficulty regarding access on backcountry lakes, launch access areas are restricted to small watercraft only.

Access

Located 53.6 km from Swan River, MB off of PR #366 in the Duck Mountain Provincial Park. The distance from trailhead to Line Lake is 0.7 km. The lake is located at the end of a short trail off Wellman Lake brush disposal site (off PH 366) near Glad Lake. There is room for parking at the old gravel pit/brush disposal site. The lake is most commonly accessed by foot in summer or by snowmobile in the winter months. This trail is not maintained and fallen trees along the trail may be an obstacle. The short trail also intersects a natural fen so tread carefully to avoid getting your feet wet.
