Island Lake

Island Lake is 59.1 hectares with a maximum depth of 4.8 meters. Northern pike are the targetable fish species present. The lake lies in a remote location of the Duck Mountain, and therefore receives very little fishing pressure. Island Lake is most commonly accessed in the winter but can be accessed year around. Fishing reports from Island Lake commonly state that pike fishing was exceptional.**Due to the nature of difficulty regarding access on backcountry lakes, launch access areas are restricted to small watercraft only.

Access

Located 101 km from Swan River, MB off of PR #366 in the Duck Mountain Provincial Park. The distance from trailhead to Island Lake is 3.3 km. The lake is located along an old logging road which is gated. This trail is not maintained but may be re-opened for logging operations in the future. Be sure to contact the nearest government office for updated information before using this trail.
